Dear Parish Family,

As you know, your vestry moved to amend our charter at its November 27, 2018 meeting. These amendments were necessary (1) for the charter to meet the requirements set forth in current Louisiana Nonprofit Corporation Law; (2) to adhere to the Canons of the National Episcopal Church and the Diocese of Louisiana; and (3) to change our selection process for new Vestry members to a “slate” process of recommending four new members rather than the current competitive election process of electing four from a list of six to eight candidates.

These charter changes, as well as being agreed to unanimously by your vestry have also been approved by Bishop Thompson in consultation with the Chancellor of the Diocese.

We are inviting those who want to ask in depth questions to a gathering in the chapel at 9:15 am on the morning of January 20, 2019.

Below you will find a comparison of the charter changes as well as the redline version and final version of the new charter.

If you have comments or concerns before that, please contact Trinity’s Chancellor John Wogan at (504) 556-4032.

In Christ,

The Rev. Andrew Thayer
